Validation of a COVID-19 grading system based on Harris Hawks optimization and a variational quantum classifier using JLDS-2024

Lung Lobe-Based Scoring Criteria

Score-level information was commonly used during the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) epidemic. Three scales are commonly used for the assessment of chest CT, where severity is scored from 0–4 points for each of the five lobes of the lung.

The total score for the five lobes is 25, distributed as follows: 5 for the right superior lobe, 5 for the right middle lobe, 5 for the right inferior lobe, 5 for the left superior lobe, and 5 for the left inferior lobe.

The grades are assigned based on the total score: 1–16 represents mild grades, while 17–25 indicates severe grades.
